Hello folks. I worried about it, but dared to write a review in English. For those who want to read it in German language, please click here.

But now we want to look at a book. An interesting book. „The girl who circumnavigated Fairyland in a ship of her own making“. My sister bought it in San Francisco (at this book store: The booksmith), but then it had to waist its time at my stack of unread books (SuB).

But each book has its time.

A story (or almost a tale) about a girl who travelled to fairyland, met different mythical creatures, made friends with them and faced her adversary at the end (and at the beginning).

I can just say: If it takes long enough, it will be all right in the end. This book  thrilled me. Read it. It’s quite easy. I don’t have to write a review. It is perfect, wise and instructive. I have been missing this for long years. A short quote:

It is well known that  reading quickens the growth of a heart like nothing else.

Isn’t that the thing every booklover thinks, deep in his heart?

The author Catherynne M. Valente will write 4 more books about September, our little Fairyland-travelling girl. And two of them are already available in book stores. The language: for me as a German it was very easy to understand this book. Because it’s a book for children, although adults would love it. „The girl who circumnavigated Fairyland in a ship of her own making“ has 247 pages, something for when you have less time. But better to have a thin book with great content than having a big one that is characterless.

Conclusion:

Beautiful, great, wonderful … Just super.

P.S.: plus 2 € for my pringles-can! (Here you get to know what it’s about. Text in German.)
